Jimmy’s Story

With experience busing tables, landscaping, construction, and excavation, owner, Jimmy Domer, knew at a young age that one day he wanted to be his own boss. At just 21 years old he started his first business in excavating. When the great financial crisis hit the building community Jimmy pivoted his business to flipping houses. With a curiosity in real estate, experience in construction, and enough hard headedness, he was able to learn a lot of life lessons while admittedly not making much money.

Later Jimmy joined the team of a countertop company owned by his wife’s family. He was able to glean an incredible amount of business knowledge as he worked his way through every level of the organization, starting as a countertop installer, transferring to sales, and ultimately becoming the GM. With a strong team, the business grew sales into the eight figures with Jimmy at the helm.

As a lifelong learner and reader, Jimmy was able to see every work experience as a learning experience. After reading Robert Kiosaki’s “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” Jimmy’s eyes were again opened to the advantages of real estate and the power of hard assets. Getting the entrepreneurial bug again, he began to look into buy and hold multifamily real estate.

In 2018, he bought his first rental property, a four-unit apartment building with a commercial storefront underneath. It was vacant and needed work, but with Jimmy’s vision and a few months of renovations, all apartments were rented and a tenant was set for the commercial area. By the end of 2021 Jimmy had added 17 more units to his portfolio and decided to leave his W-2 job to go full time into real estate. He now has a portfolio of more than 50 units across single family, multifamily, commercial, and short term rentals, with a goal of 100 units by the end of 2023.
